After a deer hunt my child asked why we give thanks before we eat what we harvested. I tried to explain responsibility and the cycle of taking and using. She simply said it sounded like a gift and that description stayed with me because it captured something I was overcomplicating.
 
Kids cut straight through the philosophy and land on the simplest truth most of us eventually circle back to.

Exactly, they skip the noise and go straight to meaning, it is hard to beat that kind of clarity.
 
 Kids just have a knack for getting right past all the clutter, don't they? Their simple way of looking at things probably sticks with you more than anything we ever try to explain.
