I could really use some help figuring out the laws around buying and transporting firearms. Does someone like me who's 25yrs in Arkansas needs an FOID card to legally buy a gun? Also, I'm a bit worried about the legal stuff when it comes to bringing a gun purchased in Arkansas back to Iowa. Would that cause any issues?

Thanks Alfred

Arkansas doesn't require an FOID card like some other states do. You'll just need to go through the standard federal background check process to buy your guns. If you’re 25 and you pass that check, you should be good to go for both rifles and handguns.

Pls check. FFL may require an in-state driver's license (proving you are a legal resident of that state). If that is the case, then the Arkansas FFL will need to transfer the firearm to an FFL in Iowa, where you will pick it up.

I really think your best bet is to reach out to a local FFL in Iowa. They’ll have the latest info for you. Or, you could take a quick look at your state’s attorney general website. It’s got some solid info too.
