For those who rely on a red dot sight for their firearms, what window sizes and optic heights have you found to be the most reliable over time? I'm really interested to know if folks are leaning towards absolute co-witness, lower 1/3, or opting for no iron sights at all. Please share your setup, including your platform, dot model, mounting method, and iron sight configuration for context.

I use a 2 MOA Aimpoint T2 mounted on a 1.93" riser and I don’t have any backup iron sights on my 16" AR. The higher mount really suits my shooting style and I’ve never experienced any issues with the optic even after thousands of rounds. The window size is just right for shooting with both eyes open. When it comes to reliability, the Aimpoint has proven to be solid for me.

I've started to like slightly taller optics on pistols. It feels more natural, a lower 1/3 co-witness seems to balance things without cluttering the view too much

I still run backup irons with a lower 1/3 setup. The dot does 99% of the work but it’s nice knowing the old-school option is there.
