Why are ticks so hard to get rid of in my yard?

I've been battling ticks in my yard for weeks now. I've tried sprays and treatments, but they keep coming back. Any advice?

They are relentless, especially if you have deer or tall grass around. I battled them last summer and what worked best was clearing brush and laying down permethrin granules in the shady spots. I also fenced the back area to keep deer out. Not perfect, but the numbers dropped big time.

Ticks are tough because they hide in tall grass, brush, and shady spots. Keep the yard trimmed, remove leaf piles, and treat the edges, sometimes it takes repeated treatments or even calling a pro to knock them back

Try spraying permethrin on the yard edges and dog runs. Also treat your clothes and boots with it. I did both and haven't pulled a tick since.

You might try some poultry. Guinea are supposed to really love ticks. It seems to me that just about any poultry gobble up any critter they can catch.
