what should I bring for my kid's first fishing trip

I’ve been thinking about taking my 5-year-old out fishing soon, but I honestly don’t know the first thing about it. I saw some kid-friendly rods at the store and wondered if they’d be enough to get started. I’m really excited to share something like this with my child, but I don’t want to show up unprepared. Any suggestions on what bait to use or how to make it fun for a little one?

Start at a quiet pond with bluegills. Get a Zebco 33 kit with 4-pound line and bobbers. Use worms for bait to keep it simple and exciting for the kid.
