What to Avoid Wearing at the Range

I've been thinking about what to wear when I go to the range and wanted to see if anyone else has some thoughts on it. Not talking about full setups or anything, just your everyday clothes.

After a few trips, I noticed something odd: a lot of folks wear camo, and I can't help but think it looks a bit much, especially for just running basic drills or a few mags through the rifle. I get wanting to look the part, but it feels a little overkill when you're not in the woods hunting.

Lately, I’ve been sticking to neutral colors—jeans, a plain shirt, boots. It seems more practical and comfortable, plus it doesn’t scream “I just walked out of a tactical gear catalog.” And obviously, no sandals or flip-flops because that’s just asking for trouble.

Is it just me? Am I overthinking what’s appropriate? I mean, it’s the range, not an op, right? I’d love to hear what you guys wear when you’re just out there having a good time.

You're not overthinking it. I usually wear jeans or cargo pants, a plain t-shirt, and sturdy boots. Comfort and safety come first and Camo's fine for hunting, but at the range it's not necessary, just keep it practical and safe

I were the same clothes to the range that I wear every day at Home. Whatever is comfortable to shoot in. Sometimes t-shirt and jeans of a long sleeve shirt. I don't like tight jeans or anything baggy to ketch on the bench seat. Just be yourself and have a good time.

I usually just wear jeans and t-shirt. Some folks might wear what wear hunting to see if there are any issues with stock placement or snagging or other such issues.
