Steel frame pistol

Are steel frame pistols good for a newbie like me? Money isn't an issue, I just want a quality handgun.

Revolver? Semi-auto?
Home protection or concealed carry or hunting?

If home protection, and your first handgun, I would recommend a revolver. Less to think about, and super reliable. But on the other hand if it’s solely home protection, there’s nothing like a pump shotgun. Something about the sound of racking a shell into the chamber…..
